The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on August 23, 2026, issued a notification regarding the levellised Generic RE Tariff Order Summary for FY 2026-27.
The following has been stated: -
•This CERC order (Petition No. 12/SM/2026) determines the levellised generic tariff for renewable energy projects for FY 2026-27 under the RE Tariff Regulations, 2024.
•Applicable to technologies like Small Hydro, Biomass, and Biogas, the order addresses stakeholder feedback on capital costs, return on equity, and interest rates.
•While various developers requested cost escalations and rate revisions due to inflation and terrain challenges, the Commission decided to retain the normative capital costs and financial parameters as specified in the 2024 regulations.
•Parameters such as the Interest on Loan (10.71%), Interest on Working Capital (11.96%), and O&M escalation (5.25%) remain unchanged as regulatory amendments fall outside this petition's scope.
•Ultimately, the Commission affirmed that major technological and fuel cost reviews would instead be undertaken during the finalization of regulations for the next control period.
